'Dentist Appointment' (Becca)

[RHILEY BAKER]

Rhiley strolled down the hallway, earphones in, not having anywhere to get to. She'd told her teacher she was getting out early for a dentist appointment but she really just needed a break from math, all the equations gave her a sore head and it wasn't like she was learning anything anyways. Her Ipod played a familliar song that she couldn't help but sing along to.
'I stare at my reflection in the mirror:
"Why am I doing this to myself?"
Losing my mind on a tiny error,
I nearly left the real me on the shelf.

Just be true to who you are!' She was belting the words out when she heard something from behind her, she teared out her earphones and spun round.

[BECCA SMITH]

Becca had been excused from art to use the bathroom. She turned a corner and heard her friend, Rhiley singing along to her iPod. Becca smiled; she was good! When Rhiley stopped singing and spun, Becca dived back around the corner and hid, quietly making her way back down the hall so that Rhiley didn't think she was being spied on. Of course, Becca had other plans than Rhiley just skipping her math lessons. Much bigger plans.

Relief washed over Rhiley and brought a smile back to her face, It was just her friend. "Oh, Hey Becca." She said in her usual friendly tone. "What are you doing here?" She asked her.

[BECCA SMITH]

"Hey." Becca smiled at her friend with a small wave. "Uh-Bathroom." She replied, gesturing to the door a small way down the hall. "How about you?" She asked in the same friendly tone.

[RHILEY BAKER]

"Ah," Rhiley nodded. "Math." She stated with a goofy face. "So I'm supposedly going to the dentist." She laughed.

[BECCA SMITH]

"Smart girl." Becca commented with a grin. "Hey, Rhiley, I was thinking... You should audition for the glee club!" She blurted out, less subtle than she'd planned.

[RHILEY BAKER]

"Really?" She clutched her stomach with laughter. "Audition? I don't know about that....." She trailed off Rhiley had also heard of the glee club's reputation but she supposed that wasn't something she'd really care about. She scratched her head. "That's actually not a bad idea, do you think I'm really cut out for it though?" She shrugged.

[BECCA SMITH]

Becca laughed at her friend. "Is Lady Gaga cut out for a psychiatric unit?" She grinned, her question rhetorical and sarcastic. "Of course you're cut out for glee. Rhi, you can sing. Like really sing!"

[RHILEY BAKER]

"Really?" Rhiley fiddled with her hair. "I've never really done much singing. And an audition?" She sounded unsure.

[BECCA SMITH]

"Don't worry, it'll be in front of me, Blaine, the glee club and Mr Schue. Nothing to worry about." Becca assured her friend. "You'll ace it." She winked and beamed.

[RHILEY BAKER]

"Says the girl who heard me singing along to my Ipod alone in a hallway." Rhiley sighed. "I'm not exactly confident, well when it comes to singing, well I suppose I wouldn't really know..." The more she thought it over, the more she was convincing herself to go.

[BECCA SMITH]

Becca laughed and rolled her eyes. "Rhiley, you know me, if you don't agree to come, you'll be dragged." She added calmly with a hint of a smirk on her face. "I learned from Blaine-fucking-Anderson. When I want or believe in something, it happens." Well, y'know, apart from not wanting her brother to die. Blaine had been there for Becca through the death of her brother and the grieving afterward. She trusted him more than anybody on the planet.

[RHILEY BAKER]

"That's what I was afraid of." Rhiley glared at her but then let it go with a laugh. "Do I even get a say in this?" She whined.

[BECCA SMITH]

"Of course!" Becca smiled sweetly. "You get to choose the song you perform!" She added, her smile stretching into a grin.

[RHILEY BAKER]

"Ugggh!Perform!" She squirmed. "I have got so much time to prepare!" She enthused sarcastically.

[BECCA SMITH]

Becca just shrugged. "I'll help you! Come on!" She grinned, taking Rhiley's hand and running down the hall, towing her into the choir room.

[RHILEY BAKER]

"Well of course!" She laughed at that. "Wait, will there be any teachers in there?" She asked cautiously.

[BECCA SMITH]

Becca let go of Rhiley before opening the door. "Mr Schue?" She called, looking around the room. When she didn't get a reply, Becca opened the door fully and walked in.

[RHILEY BAKER]

She moaned and shuffled into the room nervously. "The whole singing a big song on my own won't be a regular thing will it? After this can I just be like your Wing Girl?" Rhiley examined the room, the way there was a big space, acting like a stage and then rows of seats.

[BECCA SMITH]

Becca laughed quietly at her friend before taking the seat behind the piano. "Sure." She replied and looked up at Rhiley. "Suggestions?" She asked, not meaning for her to play on piano but for Rhiley to audition with.

[RHILEY BAKER]

"Oh, oh just let me check the list I made last night." She laughed and then sighed before adding "None." Her hands dropped to her side.

[BECCA SMITH]

Becca laughed again. "Off the top of your head? Favourite song?" She probed.

[RHILEY BAKER]

Rhiley thought. Moose dancing on the stairs came into her mind, it was hardly ever out of it. "The way i are." She laughed. "Nothing I can actually sing."

[BECCA SMITH]

Becca smiled at Rhiley. "See? We have progress." She grinned. "So, when it comes to glee club, it's usually best to keep your song choices open, practise a couple different songs before choosing the one you wanna sing." Becca explained. She guessed Rachel Berry was the kind of girl who wouldn't be impressed if she didn't approve of the song choice. Becca wondered if Blaine could help out. He played piano, guitar, violin and a couple more instruments. She wondered how he had time for it all and be a A-grade student AND have a life.

Rhiley laughed and sat down in the front row. "Well, what do you think I should sing, your the expert, what will everyone like?" She asked.
